Produced during a creative residency at a Santa Monica studio, Universal Law:
The Crossroads Maze is a powerful, graphic reflection on human geography,
cosmic kismet, and objective connection. Reflecting on her time living full-time in
New York City, the artist frames the cityscape not merely as a physical grid, but
as a metaphysical labyrinth where international souls are destined to cross paths.
The composition pays a distinct, stylized homage to the legendary street artist
Keith Haring. It utilizes high-contrast, heavy black block lettering that spells out
phrases like "AMZ NYC" and "LOVERZ" to dominate the visual landscape. The
text serves as an immediate visual barrier, mimicking the hard concrete lines of a
city street or the strict borders of a maze. Beneath these structural letters, the
background dissolves into an intricate network of micro-doodles, linear geometric
pathways, and a smiling profile line. This complex grid visualizes the endless
choices, perspectives, and unique shapes that guide how we see the world and
view each other.
With words like "HOPE" faintly gracing the upper frame, the piece captures the
unexpected pleasures, deep international loves, and genuine human connections
that can bloom when paths intersect. Objectively honoring individual perspectives
without judgment, the piece stands as a testament to the artist's belief that
